And So it Begins…

My son’s obsessed with anything that has wheels. Mostly cars. But I made it train in this comic because a.) I didn’t want it to get confusing with my last name (haha) and b.) I feel like trains slightly edge out cars in terms of toddler popularity. Anyway, he has a pretty large vocabulary (I think), but lately his favorite words are “car,” “vroom vroom” and “toot toot” (the noise cars make when they honk their horns. This is also what trains say, according to my son.)

I’m not really sure what started the car mania. Neither my husband nor myself ever went through a car phase, as far as he know. I bought him some wooden cars when he was maybe six months old because they had some at the library he seemed to like. It just took off from there.

And he gets equally excited over all cars. He loves beat up minivans just as much as he’d love a ferrari. If it’s a car, it’s great.

I wonder if part of it is because we live out in the country. We live on a one lane, gravel road, so it’s a big exciting event when a car drives by. If a car goes by the house, that’s basically the big event of the day.
